Church~ Sunday Snapshot

Church is one of EK's most favorite places to be
and to be honest she really hasn't been very much since we came home from China.
I help with our Children's Ministry team
but haven't been too involved as SJ adjusted to home.
I needed to be there yesterday
and EK loved being in her class.
My mom (Memommy) takes care of the baby room
so SJ floated between me @ the check in table
into the baby room.
I would say she had a fun time too!

Playing baby and doing what Memommy was doing
made SJ feel very safe and secure. :)

EK's class has been learning~
Jesus takes care of everyone.
Ms. Sheryl invited the local paramedics to come for a visit
and allow the children a tour of the ambulance.
Once EK and SJ realized it was just a visit,
they both relaxed and enjoyed it very much!

We are very blessed to have such dedicated community helpers
but we all know who OUR hero is!!!
BABA!!!

Sunday Snapshot: Kingdom Kids @ our Church

Each Sunday I help teach a wonderful kid's program called 252Basics during Kingdom Kids (K-5th grade) at our church (Cross Roads Baptist Church). EK and her friend Rachel recently began going up to the Klubhouse with the older kids and are loving it! I had my camera yesterday and got a couple of pics. Here are the girls during praise and worship time.

Our theme this month is Summer Fun and our virtue is Patience. The girls are enjoying the props we have set up on the stage.

Cross Walk

Our church hosted a wonderful Fall Festival Wednesday and Thursday called Cross Walk. People in our church dressed up and depicted various scenes from Jesus' life along a lighted trail through the woods. It was very well received by our community and we are hopeful it encouraged someone to come to know Jesus as their personal savior! Scott, A, & R all helped in the production.

Scott was Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the girls were in the crowd when Jesus was on trial, and Jason was Jesus at the Last Supper. Amy and I greeted people at the end of the trail and thanked them for coming with a goody bag. Daddy and Max just enjoyed all the people.

Vacation Bible School

In addition to swimming lessons last week, we also had VBS going on in the evenings. EK LOVED it. She even asked yesterday if we were going back to sing that boomerang song. It broke my heart to explain it only lasted one week. Rosie helped with the singing and Scott and I worked with kids. It was a very fun time and kids were truly taught about Jesus!!!

FBCD Visit

We went back to our old church FBC Duluth this afternoon for a reception honoring our pastor and his wife as they leave the church to go back to the mission field in Africa. It was so great to see everyone and catch up. It was a very sweet time as we remembered all the special times we have shared with Dr. Parker over the years. He is a very special person to our family. He baptized all 3 of the big girls and presided over Scott's ordination service when he was ordained as a deacon. Probably the sweetest time I ever had with him was the morning we had Parker and he walked into our hospital room to pray a prayer of blessing over us as we held our precious baby son. We will never forget the love he has shown us and pray he and Mrs. Parker are blessed beyond measure as they venture out to minister to missionaries. Here is a pic of Scott and Dr. Parker.

The Spa Party

Savannah's SS class had a spa party Saturday night at Amy's house. Amy was the spa coordinator and did a fantastic job! The girls loved it. Amelia was at a SS bowling party but came later.
Rosie, Ella, and myself all went. Rosie got to participate, and so did Amelia when she arrived.
Everyone looked beautiful and refreshed when it was all said and done. Ella enjoyed hanging our with her best friend, Grace Anne.

Youth Bowling Party

On Saturday night, we went bowling with our senior class at Oasis Bowling. It was a fun time to hang out and get to know each other better.
We had lots of kids there, but we missed many that were working. We will be having an outing with them every 3rd Saturday of the month. We look forward to all the great memories made together this last year of high school.
Even EllaKate had friends, Grace Anne and Kate, there to hang out with. We had a great time!!

Back to School Retreat

We went to the Billy Graham Cove Camp in Asheville, NC with our youth group from FBC Duluth to the annual Back to School Retreat (B2SR). We left on Friday evening and stayed until Monday morning. As you can see, EllaKate was wonderful- she slept where ever we were!

Jason and Amy were there too! It was wonderful to spend quality time with them. Jason brought the message Saturday night and it was awesome!!! They are really loved by all the kids!!!

As I said, EllaKate slept where ever. Everyone thought she was a wonderful baby!

Early morning faces... I had plenty of diet coke in the car!!!
Our precious daughters! It was like being in China... no distractions of the world- just focused time together with great Christian friends!!! Each one of the girls had a great experience. We were amazed at the things they shared with us when we got home. EllaKate was amazing. We slept together in the bottom bunk each night in the senior girls in their cabin. It was a wonderful trip, but it was great to get home!!!

EK @ Sunday School

Well, I still can't believe it but we stopped by on Sunday morning to just see what Ella Kate's new SS class looked like. Ms. Sara is a lady that took care of the big girls when they were in the nursery long ago. I was glad to see her so we let EK go in and see what she thought. She sat right down and began playing. The teachers really encouraged us to leave her, so we got a beeper and stood outside the room and watched her through the window for a long time. She was doing great so we went to our SS, (crying of course). Amelia and I decided we would go and check on her afterwards, before service. We were amazed! She was sitting at a little table with her friends eating a cracker. We both had tears again. We decided she was ok so we went to service. We couldn't wait to go pick her up afterwards. When we got back, the teachers couldn't say enough sweet things about her! This picture shows what Ella was doing when we got there - playing with the babies. We were so proud of her and she even went back last night and played while we all went to Bible studies. What a big day for Ella Kate and me!!!!!
