Black & White Wednesday & a little Yellow

Funny story...

This morning when choosing outfits for the day,
I chose yellow dresses,
white hairbows,
white capris,
and white sweaters because it was a little cool out.

EK said, "Mom, don't you think this is a little TOO much white?"
I died laughing!!!

SJ has had some complications from her dental surgery
and while talking with a nurse yesterday,
they insisted we bring her in today for a check.

The surgeon thought everything looked pretty good
but because her gums are puffy and bleeding,
he gave us a medicine rinse and we go back in 2 weeks.

We are SO thankful SJ is ok
and didn't require more surgery.

Sunday is our family lunch day
at our house

Jason, Amy, Max, and Adelyn were even here
along with my sister Marcia and her kids, Becca and Sam.

My mom was holding Adelyn
and asked me to shoot a couple of photos of her back...
what a precious baby Adelyn!!!

SJ and Dora~ B&W Wednesday

After we left the hospital yesterday,
we had some time to kill before the tennis match
so we went to Target and just walked around.

Didn't have anything we needed BUT
SJ found something she loved and wanted...
a Dora outfit~
she LOVES Dora so how could I say no.
I couldn't...
and when we finally got home last night SO late,
she changed into it, slept in it and wore it all day.

Here are a few images of her happy as can be!

Us~ Joy to Love/ B&W Wednesday

almost 25 years of us.

We said I Do on June 21, 1986
and gave our hearts to each other~
actually I think we became one heart.

One heart to love...
Christ~
each other~
our children~
our family~
our friends~
our neighbors (close and far)~
orphans~
China~
each other! :)

I can't imagine my life without my soulmate
and best friend!!!
Each day is precious because we have each other.

The best thing about us...
we love being together in this crazy thing called life.
And believe me...
things right now are CRAZY!!!

Ruth 1:16-17
Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.

My Baby Jing... B&W Wednesday

Exactly 4 months ago last Monday,
my baby Jing had open heart surgery to repair her little TOF heart.

We were barely home 3 days when she had a Tet spell
and forced us into a tailspin while completely jet lagged.

Looking back on it all,
God's timing was SO perfect.

We had not been home long enough
for Jing to be comfortable in her new home
or to know her new sisters very well
or to really know exactly what this new life was all about.

So for us to go right into surgery was probably the perfect timing~
definitely God's timing.

It was such an extremely emotional time for us all.
We had just fallen in love with our precious new daughter~
one who had lost all familiar to her,
one that knew hardly any English,
or who she could trust
or why this lady who had been taking care of her
would let all these strange people do all these mean
things to her.
A very hard, stressful time for us all!!!

For the last 4 months we have been under the care of a wonderful cardiologist~
Dr. Lindsey @ Sibley Heart Center.
We knew coming out of surgery there was a problem with Jing's pulmonary arteries
and would be watched very closely.
For the last 4 months when we saw Dr. Lindsey,
he had very good news for us...
heart looked great and getting stronger and arteries growing.

Until yesterday...
(I just loved this photo of Jing as she sat on Dr. Lindsey's stool with her little feet crossed.)

Her left artery is growing but her right is a little more blocked
and Dr. Lindsey is sending us back to Egleston for cardiac catheterization.
What does this all mean?
She will go under while they run a wire to her heart
and decide what needs to be done~
balloon, stint, or surgery???

SO what's different this time?
She IS comfortable at home,
extremely attached to her sisters,
understands everything we say to her,
talks up a storm,
trusts me and Scott with all her heart,
wants mommy to kiss all her boo boos,

AND

remembers how scared she was when she was in the hospital,
will know exactly why we are at the hospital when we drive in,
will beg me not to take her in,

and I will have to make her do it anyway.

I don't want her to have to go through this all again
but SO thankful we are blessed to have such a wonderful doctor
who cares so much for our precious little girl...
one who is showing us the way to a healthier little heart.
We are waiting to hear when we will be going...
please join me in praying for every person God will use to help little JingJing. :)
May God be glorified every step of the way.

Psalm 29:11
The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.

Tea for Two: Black and White Wednesday

I had a little sewing to do today
12/365
and the littles followed me to the basement...

where my sewing room
and their playroom are one.

They enjoyed having tea
and a pretend birthday party~

while I purged and organized everything down there.
Being inside for 4 days
makes me tackle projects that just NEED to be done.

I then moved on to organzing
a new home school cabinet...
still a work in progress and promise to post
when it is done!!! :)
