Happy Halloween!

Halloween was another first for SJ~
and she loved it because she loves anything EK does. :)
Our town celebrated on Saturday night
and we began our festivities with a visit to my mom and dad's.
The girls laughed so hard
when Chicken Little (Max) answered the door.
It was a very fun stop because they all got lots of candy
and daddy gave them all a flashlight~
now that is the best... came in handy too!

Last year, EK wanted to be Ariel for Halloween
but by the time it came around,
she had changed her mind and wanted to be Belle.
This year she went back to the mermaid costume
and she was SO cute!!!
SJ wore EK's ladybug costume which fit her perfectly
and was representative of her coming home only 6 weeks ago.
Rosie went with us to take the littles T-O-T.
We took them to Susan and Tony's neighborhood
and ran into our sweet friends~
Rachel being one of EK's BFFs.
They had so much fun running from house to house
or riding in the wagon.
It turned out to be a very fun night
and ended with dinner @ Dairy Queen~
then home for baths and bed!
I hope everyone else had a Happy Halloween too!
Before you know it,
we will turn around and it will be Thanksgiving!
Happy first day of November!!!

Halloween Fun!

EK has been looking forward to Halloween for over a month. As a matter of fact I bought her the cutest Little Mermaid costume back at the beginning of September because she was SURE that was who she wanted to be. Well why in the world did I fall for that??? :)

Over the weeks, she became completely in love with Belle and all she could talk about was getting a beautiful yellow dress to wear for Halloween. I kept reminding her she was going to be Ariel but she was determined to be Belle. Can you believe I took her back to the Disney store to look at the Belle dresses? The dress at the front of the store almost made me pass out... $89.00... I knew we had to get out of there but followed EK around the store until we made it all the way to the back. There on a clearance rack was the 'Last' year Belle dress... $14.99... one dress and EK's size. I snatched it right up and we headed to check out. Done. She would be Belle and oh so happy!

We were so excited to take her trick-or-treating without dodging the rain. We started at Memommy and Pop's house with Max

and then she walked Aunt Susan and Uncle Tony's whole neighborhood with complete joy!!! Gigi went with us, Mill went to the movies with all her friends, and Nan was in Atlanta... We enjoyed a great party at Jason and Amy's house for our Halloween finale. It was a great holiday!!!

Pumpkin Patch Day!

We took the girls along with my mom, Jason, Amy, and Max to a little pumpkin patch not far from home. EK and Max loved looking for the perfect pumpkin and taking a wagon ride. I loved all the pics I was able to take and as you can see had a hard time weeding them out. When we got home, EK decorated her with a Princess kit and we carved the big one. The best part was the delicious pumpkin seeds we baked- YUM!!! It was a wonderful day- the only thing that would have made it better... Savannah and Josh!!!

Halloween

Our church hosted a Fall Festival called Crosswalk last evening where the community was invited to come for games, food, a lighted trail of live scenes from Jesus' life, and trunk-or-treat. It was SO cold!!! The wind was blowing but I don't think the kids knew the difference- they all had a ball. EllaKate dressed up like Cinderella and Max was a pea pod. They were adorable!!! I will post more pages tomorrow of the festivities.

EllaKate waited all day to get dressed and go trick-or-treating. She knew when her dad got home, it would be time. We ate Mexican and then met up with Jason, Amy, and Max in town for a Halloween festival. EllaKate loved playing the games and getting candy.
Amelia & Rosemary went to the ballgame and we took EllaKate trick-or-treating @ Susan & Tony's and my mom and dad's house. By that time, it was late and we needed to get her home to bed. It was a really fun night and she was asleep as soon as she put her head on the pillow.

A Girl and Her Big Pumpkin

Today we were in Walmart getting a few things when what should EllaKate see but the biggest light up pumpkin I had ever seen... what do you think she said?
EK: That is a really cool pumpkin.
Me: I like it too.
EK: Can we take one home?
Me: Umm... it sure is big.
EK: I like big.
Me: OK- but you have to let me take pictures...
EK: OK momma!

*Now, don't you think it was worth every penny??? And it looks pretty cute from the road!!!

Halloween

We celebrated our 2nd Halloween with EllaKate and she understood much better this year. We had two costumes to pick from and we really wanted her to wear the Tinkerbell outfit, but wouldn't you know, we couldn't find the shoes when it was time to get ready. I decided to let her wear the ladybug costume instead. Just before we were to head to our church for Trunk-or-Treat, I changed her into Tinkerbell once again and put her silver shoes on her. She was adorable!!! Rosemary and Amelia went to the Methodist church for a Mexican fiesta and then on to a few haunted houses. It was a hauntingly wonderful night.

Trick or treat

Halloween was so fun with all the girls last night. Savannah, Amelia, and Rosie were all invited to different things, but they all said they needed to be home for their little sister's first Halloween. We ate chili and rice before heading our for trick-or-treating. Rosie was a sleepover queen along with her friend, Jules. EllaKate was Minnie Mouse carrying an Elmo bucket. I went with them for half of the street and Scott went the other half. When EllaKate was finished, Rosie went to her friend, Jules' house to t-o-t, and Amelia's friend, Jessica came over to go out. Savannah had homework and EllaKate went to sleep @ 8:00. All in all, it was a frightfully wonderful night!!!
