Adoption Family Pool Party

When we lived in Atlanta, we hosted First Friday at our house for adoption families. We sure miss everyone and the support we all gained from getting together. We invited everyone out for a pool party today and enjoyed hanging out so much!!! We missed some sweet families and hope to see them again soon! Enjoy a few of the almost 200 shots I took today. I am sad to say, I missed getting a picture of the Zinn family but did remember the Randalls, Harknesses, Warwicks, and Eyes.

March First Friday

We came into town yesterday for March First Friday at the William's home. There was a big crowd! The Randalls were there with their new baby, Ellie, home from China just over a week. It was so great to hear about their trip and know we will all come home with that precious blessing sooner or later. Scott said and I agreed, when a family finally brings home a child, our group becomes closer and closer- priceless!!! Thanks to the Randalls for allowing us to meet precious Ellie and see big sister, Katie too.

First Friday

We went into town yesterday for a playdate with Li Li and First Friday @ the Zinn's. It was a wonderful day! The girls all went up to North Ga to take Savannah's stuff and drop it off. They met us at the mall and took Ian to see Water Horse. After our playtime and movie, the girls and I did a little shopping and then dinner with Scott @ PF Changs. Then we headed to the Zinn's!

The Zinn family graciously invited families into their home for First Friday last evening. The Zinn's are the family we met about 4 years ago and told us about CCAI. We fell in love with Madison and we say she was our first Chinese love that led us to our EllaKate. We enjoyed seeing so many wonderful families and all the children. It was great to catch up and encourage each other as we continue to brave the long wait. We know without a shadow of a doubt, it will be well worth it when that baby is put into our arms. I look so forward to that amazing day! I love you Shaylee baby!!!

Sept First Friday

We were so blessed to travel to Loganville to the home of Tim and Lisa Watkins for the September First Friday. We were also blessed to spend time with Lucy, Sara, Lauren, and Ally just home from China (Doug @ football game). Ally was absolutely precious and really did well around so many people, especially since she was the highlight of the night!!! Lucy showed us a slide show of their trip and told us all about it. There were three families there waiting to get their referral and travel for first time so it was really great for them to hear about the trip. We were also so blessed to see the Zinn family with 5 children. two from China and paperwork on the way for a third! How wonderful to spend time with so many precious people who share the same amazing heart for adoption. Getting together with families such as these is one of my favorite things to do!!!

October 1st Friday

We enjoyed a wonderful group of people last evening @ the October First Friday. Everyone spent time getting to know each other and share the progress of their adoption. The girls had some great friends to hang out with. EllaKate had a new friend over named Rebecca. They were both 18 months old and really played well together. Rebecca is waiting on a brother that is to be adopted from China sometime soon. It was a really fun evening!!!

August 1st Friday

We hosted our August First Friday last evening. We were expecting a big crowd and as you can see, we had one. Cindy Robertson from CCAI was there to share with the group. We had 13 families with 7 of them having Chinese daughters (12 in all). Everyone had a chance to share about their family and what brought them to the meeting. It was amazing all the connections we were able to make with each other. We had families ranging from choosing an agency to one that has been home 12 years. We also had two babies, Mary Clare and Emma Katherine, that had first birthdays in July, so we celebrated by singing Happy Birthday to them. We hope to celebrate many more special occasions through the months. We had a great time and already look forword to next time!!!
