My Baby Jing... B&W Wednesday

Exactly 4 months ago last Monday,
my baby Jing had open heart surgery to repair her little TOF heart.

We were barely home 3 days when she had a Tet spell
and forced us into a tailspin while completely jet lagged.

Looking back on it all,
God's timing was SO perfect.

We had not been home long enough
for Jing to be comfortable in her new home
or to know her new sisters very well
or to really know exactly what this new life was all about.

So for us to go right into surgery was probably the perfect timing~
definitely God's timing.

It was such an extremely emotional time for us all.
We had just fallen in love with our precious new daughter~
one who had lost all familiar to her,
one that knew hardly any English,
or who she could trust
or why this lady who had been taking care of her
would let all these strange people do all these mean
things to her.
A very hard, stressful time for us all!!!

For the last 4 months we have been under the care of a wonderful cardiologist~
Dr. Lindsey @ Sibley Heart Center.
We knew coming out of surgery there was a problem with Jing's pulmonary arteries
and would be watched very closely.
For the last 4 months when we saw Dr. Lindsey,
he had very good news for us...
heart looked great and getting stronger and arteries growing.

Until yesterday...
(I just loved this photo of Jing as she sat on Dr. Lindsey's stool with her little feet crossed.)

Her left artery is growing but her right is a little more blocked
and Dr. Lindsey is sending us back to Egleston for cardiac catheterization.
What does this all mean?
She will go under while they run a wire to her heart
and decide what needs to be done~
balloon, stint, or surgery???

SO what's different this time?
She IS comfortable at home,
extremely attached to her sisters,
understands everything we say to her,
talks up a storm,
trusts me and Scott with all her heart,
wants mommy to kiss all her boo boos,

AND

remembers how scared she was when she was in the hospital,
will know exactly why we are at the hospital when we drive in,
will beg me not to take her in,

and I will have to make her do it anyway.

I don't want her to have to go through this all again
but SO thankful we are blessed to have such a wonderful doctor
who cares so much for our precious little girl...
one who is showing us the way to a healthier little heart.
We are waiting to hear when we will be going...
please join me in praying for every person God will use to help little JingJing. :)
May God be glorified every step of the way.

Psalm 29:11
The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.

Aren't we so fortunate to have wonderful doctors and the opportunity to heal our children here? Our littlest has surgery in two months and I try to not fret...

  20. Shay,
As a mother we are so lucky to have children to love, cherish, and take care of. Watching our children go through hard times..is the hardest part without a doubt about being a mom.
You are one of the best mothers I know!!I am thankful to have you as such a great example to follow.

I will pray for the Doctors ,JingJing, and your whole family. Hold on to Gods word!!

Philippians 4:6 :Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

    I love you!!

  21. I am so sorry to hear that. I will certainly be praying for all of you and I know she will do great with all of the wonderful support she has now. What a lucky little girl she is! And I don't think she could be in better hands: That is the same cardiologist we go to for River and he is fabulous!

  25. So sorry she has to go through this, but maybe it really is better now than two months ago when she was in that between place-not totally confident in your kisses and reassurance but wanting to be. Now her sisters can all be there with her and for her and she can reach for you knowing that you will be there too.

  26. Of course I will be praying for Jing! I know exactly what you mean about the "Perfect" timing. I believe John Asher's surgery would have been so much harder on ALL of us had God's timing not been so perfect! I am so sad that Jing has to go through this again and I know that this time will be so much different! But what isn't different is that the same God that brought her through surgery the first time is still on his throne, still in control and knows exactly what he is doing! I will be praying...and along with you, trusting in the Almighty!
    Blessings,
    Robyn

  30. Shay,

Lifting up your sweet JingJing! This is so unexpected! Praying God will give SJ a supernatural understanding of what is going on and a peace that all that is happening is out of l.o.v.e.

    Hugs,
    Sara
