The Tet Scare

We knew when we adopted JingJing
that she had a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot.
Wednesday morning,
she had a pretty scary Tet Spell.

Children having a TET spell may have several symptoms:

  • Rapid, deep breathing.
  • Fainting/loss of consciousness.
  • Increasing blueness (cyanosis) of the lips, tongue and nailbeds
  • Irritability or uncontrolled crying.
And we knew we would see a ped cardiologist
when we were home for treatment and probably surgery.
We called on Monday to schedule this appt
and we given one next Tuesday with a dr in Athens.

Wednesday morning when we woke up from our 12 hour nap,
I took the girls in the kitchen to eat a snack
and when finished they both got down.
JingJing was following EK to the sunroom
but after about 6-7 steps, she sunk to the floor.
I ran to pick her up and she burst into tears.
She looked right into my eyes
as if to tell me something was wrong.
She could not get her breath and her lips were blue.
I was so afraid she was going to faint or loose consciousness.

Scott was about to walk out the door to work
when this all took place.
He waiting around to see if she was ok
but she continued to be short of breath
and just lie on the floor.
He suggested we call our dr's office
and speak to the dr on call.

WHO do you think was on call this night???
Yes GOD put Dr. Morgan on as the call dr
and she called us right back.
After telling her everything that had happened,
she suggested we go ahead and take her down to
Egleston to the emergency room.
I got dressed, dressed the girls, and we were off.

So many answered prayers:
We were stateside when this happened!
Scott was home and not at work!
Dr. Morgan was on call!

Praise be to the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Eph 1:3
