Sunday Snapshot: Longing for ShayleeJoy

For the past couple of weeks, I have wondered more and more what it will be like when we have two 'little' ones running around. I have longed to get ShayleeJoy's clothes and things ready for her arrival. Some may say... "it will be months before you bring her home" but I don't care about that. I actually put the crib up in Nov 2004 and we didn't bring EK home until Apr 2006. So now... what's a few months, right?

Last week I tried to just add SJ's stuff in with EK's stuff but there just wasn't enough room. The dresser I was using just didn't cut it. And I couldn't figure out whether to get out 2T or 3T clothes. I have the 2Ts out and plan to add the 3s. I know I am crazy to be worrying about all this but it's just me. I LOVE organizing and nesting. :)

My mom gave us a beautiful dresser to borrow and I was able to get everything organized today. EK on the left and SJ on the right... I'm thinking shadow boxes with their special things from China would look great someday over those baskets. :)

The girls will share a room and a trundle bed- EK on the top and SJ on the bottom. Who thinks the three of us will end up on the bottom all together???

EK had way more things to play with in her room before we moved the dresser in but now she is down to a small corner... she does have an art and school area in the sunroom and a playroom in the basement.

And here is their closet all ready with clothes for SJ... EK on the left and SJ on the right. :)

Look so forward to the day when both girls are laughing and playing in their new room together! God is so good all the time.

One more thing... Savannah is at the beach on spring break this week and she always sends me a pic each day. I LOVE the ocean so this is the one she sent today and I added the words to it.

  2. I love nesting and organizing too! Have fun with it! Did EK switch rooms again? I have put some of Asher's things from Ethiopia in a shadow box and I love how it looks!

  3. I am starting to think along these lines as well. Praying that we both get to travel to China sooner than expected.

  4. Never too early!!! You have waited long enough! Look for my friend Stacy at the tennis match today (AHS's coach)...!!! She doesn't know it yet, but she will go one day!!! I keep telling her that and she laughs!

  5. Ohhh, me too!! How I loved just holding things that I knew my child would one day hold, or play with, or wear :)
It must bring you so much joy to see your girls things together!
Praying that travel comes SOON :)

  6. Hi Sharon,

The room looks so beautiful....and I cannot blame you for nesting and getting everyting ready. This is such and exciting time for your precious family. You will be getting on that plane to travel across that beautiful ocean very soon!

Thank you for stopping by today and leaving such a kind comment. I will try not to feel guilty, but it is hard to leave everyone behind and really relax without worring!

    Have a wonderful week!

    xo,
