ShayleeJoy Day!!!

EK and I got a pic before going to meet SJ.
All day she had not been very happy about getting SJ
and finally when she figured out we were not going
to the orphanage, she was SO excited!
Poor thing... wish I had known she was worried about that.

Our guide came to the room to get us.
She said SJ was very upset because she tried to talk to her.
She was sitting in a chair when we walked in
and the minute they started telling her who we were,
she began crying and crying and crying.
One of the things we have to do is get a family picture
but she was crying so much it was hard to get it.

The orphanage staff~ the dr gave us a duffel of special
things for SJ to keep.
SJ was still crying.

It was not until the staff left and we walked out of that room
that she began a little whimper.
We were able to get that family pic out in the hall
and we were off to the room.
She sat in my lap for a very long time
and then got down to play with EK!!!

I can't even tell you how well EK has done...
really beyond our greatest prayer.
She is the BEST big sister ever.
She said we sure have a cute baby mama and
I'm so glad we get to keep her forever!!!
She has shared her toys and her parents...
she allowed me to get SJ to sleep
even when I know she wanted me to hold her.

The only way to sum this day up is just say:
GOD!!!
He ordained this day that would be
Forever ShayleeJoy JingJing Day!!!
We are so in love and awe of this very beautiful miracle.
We are so very blessed to be the mom and dad
to THE most beautiful FIVE daughters in the world!
And as I always say...
Thank You Jesus!!!

More pics coming...
it will only me load five to a post.
AND
keep the comments coming~
they mean the world to our family
and we have cherished EVERY one!!!
God bless you all!!! :)

  8. Of course she knows how to use the remote and cell phone! What kind of modern girl doesn't? She will fit in just fine and make a place for herself! I wish for EK and SJ to be best buds - just like we watched the same miracle happen in our house! Does she seem tiny? So, is she chattering in Chinese? Does she look at EK like she should understand her? Alaina would get frustrated with us when we didn't understand and she would turn to Ally and babble on and on! So I see that you will need to work on SJ's tan -- EK has a little advantage there!

  9. Love that EK & SJ are bonding so well well. Seems like big sisters help the transition for the littler ones. :)

  12. Lindy wore that dress to church last Sunday! Maybe she knew it would be the special dress SJ and EK would wear a week later...

In bible class this summer we've been talking about God and how he wants for us to see him. Over and over I've heard this verse from Zephaniah 3:17.

The LORD your God is with you,
    he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Today I am so excited to see how the Lord has taken great delight in your family by choosing SJ for your family and your family for SJ.

    Love~
    Lisa

  13. Cheers to EK for being such a wonderful big sister! Adjustments like this are rarely easy and it's nice to see how fantastic she doing. We too, were lucky when we adopted our second, that the first daughter really enjoyed her new sister. As long as she feels secure in her place in your family, EK will have little to worry about as she welcomes her new baby sister.

  14. We are in awe of what God has done. I stood in church this morning thinking that you were asleep in China probably holding her in your arms. I started to cry for you it was so overwhelming. I am so incredibly thankful that we love a God who works miracles for children like SJ! Love to you all!

  16. Oh Wow!! I am SO reliving our moments with Khloe through catching up on your travels thus far. We had Isabel as our guide in Fuzhou, too. We LOVED her and wish we were able to keep in touch so she could see how well Khloe is doing. We didn't get to spend much time with her, as it rained everytime we tried, and Breanna was sick much of our time there. It's hard to believe we there there just 3 months ago. Seems longer in many ways.

Love reading all about your transition and seeing your little girls in all their adorable matching outfits and bows... so SO precious! Will be praying for the rest of your travels, but it looks like things are going SO well and the grieving is good. PTL for that... GOD Is SO GOOD!! <><

    Blessings and Hugs,
    ~ Tanya (and Khloe!!)
