Black and White Wednesday: Editing

Photography is such a complicated hobby most days.
Every once in a while, you get an image that has potential.
I am guilty of looking for the easy edit
because I always want to use so many of the images I shoot.

I chose this image today because it has a hint of catch lights~
something I am NOT good at and want to be desperately!

Lightroom edit to vintage

Back to PSE8 for eye edit

Pretty sure I should have done the eye edit first but oh well...
still not what I am striving for but a start.
If you have any suggestions for me...
I am oh so ready to learn and try new things.
PS... I know there are presets, actions and textures, etc out there
but you know we are fundraising for ShayleeJoy
so I'm not able to buy anything like that right now.
Maybe someday. :)

  1. Hi! This is a beautiful photo of Ella Kate and your edits are awesome! - you know way more than I do :) I have free actions for Lightroom - Stephanie (Ni Hao Y'all) posted them on her blog - can't remember what they are. I don't even know how to use photoshop so you are way ahead of me! I have more free actions for photoshop from coffeeshop I think - (but since I don't use photoshop . . .) I will check and see if I can find links for you but there are heaps of free actions everywhere!!!

  2. Pioneer woman has free actions. I use hers all the time. In fact, I did my black and white conversion using her actions. :)

Google "free photoshop actions" and see what comes up.

You did GREAT with this photo tho!

    :)

  4. Beautiful shot of a beautiful girl!!! I also used Lightroom for my BW conversion. I love all their preset variations, like "aged photo" and "antique".

    Nice!
