Easter 2010

Easter was a very special day for us because we were all together! EK woke the big girls up for Easter baskets and an inside egg hunt. I made sausage casserole and cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then everyone was off the get ready for church- which was awesome and then home for pictures and lunch. I had so much for getting some great shots of our family. Hope to get some great ones of Marcia and her family when she comes home this weekend.

This last picture will be a favorite of mine forever! I don't get many shots of mama and daddy together very often so this a special one! They are so very amazing! On this day when we celebrate Resurrection Day, I am so thankful because they are the reason I know Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I have the promise of going to heaven when I die. They are the ones that took me to church as a baby and every time the doors opened from then on. They made sure I went on church retreats and knew how much Jesus loved me. I gave my life to Jesus as a young girl and have loved Him all my life.

Now as Scott and I raise our girls in Jesus' love, we are most thankful that S, A, & R have all made their professions of faith and we continue to encourage and talk to EK. A little funny story... this past week as we were preparing for Easter, EK and I were talking about why Jesus died on the cross for us. I was talking about if we believe that Jesus is God's Son and He died and was raised up so we could be forgiven, when we die we get to live with Him in heaven forever. EK stopped me right there and said, "I don't want to talk about that. It makes me sad." I asked her what she was sad about. She said, "I don't want to live in heaven. I want to live here with you and daddy." I picked her up, held her tight, and asked her if she believed Jesus loved her and died for her and she said YES! I let it go right there... she knows what is important and the other will come in her own time. I am so thankful that God gave us this precious girl to love and teach about His love for her. And... this time next year, we will have SJ home as well!!! :)

  1. hi sharon! what beautiful photos!! :) i had to comment because ava is afraid of the same thing regarding heaven. she doesn't really like to talk about it either. she also doesn't really like to talk about easter because she gets stuck on the concept of Jesus/God dying and she can't grasp that He is alive. She knows He's alive because we pray to Him, but I think "coming back to life" is too complex for her. it's hard because i so want her to "get it" and be excitd about it but all in due time! (she's 4.5 yrs)

i bet you were thinking what i was thinking yesterday... next year will mean ONE more easter basket to fill!!! :) :)
