NYE was a quiet one for us. Savannah and Amelia were both with friends so we made soup, watched football, shot fireworks, and watched the ball drop. Rosie and EK LOVED the sparklers... I remember loving them when I was a little girl too. I would pretend to be a baton twirler that twirled fire- so fun.
We didn't know it at the time but our dog Fisher got scared and hid away from the fireworks way into the night. We feared he might be gone for good because he has never left for that long. When I got up Friday morning, the first thing I did was go check on him. I was so relieved to find him sitting on his bed safe and sound. I can't tell you how happy Scott and the girls were! Lesson learned... make sure Fisher is up by dusk on a firework shooting evening.
I did get working on my scrapbooking today. I worked on four layouts from the end of 2009 and two from yesterday. We had a wonderful New Years Day going to Scott's brother Larry's house for lunch. He always cooks the biggest meal complete with peas, collards, and all the fixings- delish! There were at least 40 people there and it is always such a fun time to catch up from the holidays or even the past year. EK sure has lots of little cousins to play with.
My First Two Layouts for 2010 (simple and DONE!)
Blessings,
Thanks for your sweet comments! I have officially closed the door on scrapbooking. I just don't have time! My poor boys won't have books of their own. I even sold all of my paper scrapbooking stuff to a friend. I lost all of my digi stuff when my laptop was updated in August. I forgot to save it! Like you, I'm using Blurb to turn the blog into a book. I agree that it isn't very user friendly and it takes forever. It won't be as cute as a scrapbook, but at least the kids' lives will be documented for them! Happy 2010 and I hope this is the year we all get to meet little ShayleeJoy!
ReplyDeleteI am proud of you for already making some twenty ten pages - good for you! I am reluctant to make "resolutions" - I always have lots of things I want to improve on - spend less money, exercise more, eat less junk, yell less, read my Bible more consistently. Ultimately, if I succeeded in any (all) of my "goals" - I would look more like Christ. So, I guess, in a nutshell then, my resolution would be to look more like Christ at the end of twenty ten than I do at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteSee what I just did? I just made a resolution despite saying I wasn't going to.
{sigh}
I agree with Sara; will 2010 be the year of Shaylee Joy??
Great job with the scrapbooking! I don't consider myself OCD, but I am really glad we are back to an even year too! 2010 is so nice and round......like a milestone. Let's hope it's a good one!
ReplyDeletePeace, Joy and Love!

Love the beautiful layouts!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found your dog! My sister's dog hates fireworks too - she is an indoor dog, but hides whenever she hears any type of loud noises. Fireworks and thunderstorms are the worst!
Hope you have a very happy and healthy 2010!!!
Glad you guys had a good New Year's Eve and found Fisher!!!! I love your layouts. You have inspired me to get going and get caught up with 2009. I know it won't take me long since it's digital...I always seem to choose other things instead!! :>)
